On May 20, legendary NYC underground house label Nervous Records teams up with HOT US-based DJ/production/remix team Starkillers (AKA Nick Terranova) and Austin Leeds for
Nervous Nitelife: Vegas is a perfect representation of both the artists and the city of choice – Sin City. Both are unpredictable, flashy and above everything else, all about the party. Unlike most mix CDs currently on the market, Nervous Nitelife: Vegas provides an up to the minute account of what the artist is all about. Naturally, the CD highlights the DJs’ mixing skills, but it goes far beyond pulling together a bunch of tracks you’ve already heard a million times. Terranova and Leeds really stepped up to the plate and created a CD that is heavy on their own exclusive productions and remixes, while a companion DVD provides insight into both the artists and the Las Vegas clubbing scene. This is the quintessential Starkillers & Austin Leeds sound and the music simply does not get any fresher than this.
The CD starts out on a slow tribal journey through the NYC underground with Starkillers & Austin Leeds remix of house music diva Joi Cardwell’s “Keep Coming Around” before a dash of bubbly electro enters the fray with David Tort & DJ Ruff Meet Angel De Frutos’ “LA Girls (Fuzzy Hair Remix).” Next, Starkillers & Terranova add an electro-rock edge to Hardrox’s “Feel The Hardrock (Up To No Good)” before unveiling their own new side project Pimp Rockers with the anthemic vocal track “Crave You feat. Deanna.” The excellent Cube Guys remix of Ralph Falcon’s newest #1 Billboard smash “Break You” offers the perfect lead into the double whammy of Nick Terranova’s own rocktronic “Breakaway feat. Steve Bertrand” and Tikaro, J. Louis & Ferran feat. Clarence “Shine On Me (Nick Terranova & Austin Leeds Vocal Mix).” As we approach the finish line, the intensity and BPM’s pick up steadily thanks to Nick Terranova & Austin Leeds’ remix of D.0.N.S & DBN Feat. Kadoc’s – “The Nightrain” and the duo’s own original track “Come Alive feat Steve Bertrand.”
Nervous Nitelife: Vegas branded events featuring Starkillers & Austin Leeds will take place across North America throughout the spring and summer months. In this rare instance, “What happens in Vegas,” will be coming to a city near you. Get ready to party.
ABOUT STARKILLERS (NICK TERRANOVA) AND AUSTIN LEEDS
Austin Leeds first rose to prominence in 2000 with a string of hits on John Digweed’s Bedrock label. It wasn’t long before Leeds’ music had found a honored spot in the record bags of all the DJ heavyweights: Danny Tenaglia, Erick Morillo, DJ Vibe, Oscar G, Deep Dish, John Digweed, Sander Kleinenberg, and Superchumbo, to name a few. Austin’s collaborative partnership with Terranova has been a long and successful one. The two have produced a string of hits together including “Shake Me, Rock Me,” “For the Pills,” “Acid Disco,” and “Only You” The two have also collaborated with Paul van Dyk on the track “New York City” as featured on the 2007 CD In Between and have also recently completed a remix of Binary
Finary’s “1998,” which will be released summer 2008.
Nick Terranova is known as the man behind the MASSIVE hit Discoteka; the very first track released under his Starkillers alias. The track lived at the top of the Billboard Dance and Beatport sales charts, was named an “Essential Selection” on Pete Tong’s BBC1 radio show, was nominated for best underground track at the IDMAs, and has been supported by almost every major DJ out there. Terranova has an impressive list of musical accomplishments: he runs the record label Terratraxx that he started in 2002, has produced a ton of original productions and done an equally impressive number of high profile remixes. Done both in his own name and under pseudonyms such as Starkillers, Aftertouch, Terranova, Hi_Lo, and Nick Touch, they include remixes of iiO’s “Rapture,” Stevie Nick’s “Stand Back,” Paul Oakenfold’s “Sex & Money”, Holmes & Ives’ “8 Letters,” and DJ Dan’s “Rock to the Rhythm.” Terranova also holds “Dirty Sound” residencies at Late Night Empire in Las Vegas, Crobar Chicago, Lizard Lounge in Dallas, On Broadway in San Diego, Bleu in Detroit, and Bliss in San Antonio.
