Dance Music Podcasts, Links and Internet Radio Station Essentials

Thank the Music Gods for the almighty Internet... or, those of us who worship House, Trance and other forms of Club Music, would never be able to find our Gospel.
There are many, many Dance Music sites, blogs, podcasts, independent radio stations on the web, and I am always on the look out for new ones, or something that I haven’t discovered yet. The sea is never ending, and it is hard to know exactly which direction to send someone when they ask, “List some sites that I can go to, to hear some good stuff.”
Years ago, Internet Radio , Podcasts [and now satellite radio] saved me the trouble of storming any one of the local radio stations that used to play dance music (at least on the week ends) with an arm full of 12″ records, a pocket full of mix tapes, and a water gun full of Holy Water, threatening a drunken exorcist shouting , “Someone better play some dance music now or things are going to get ugly!”
Ever since America, (and the world) turned into mindless drones of what ever Hip Hop and Rap was force fed over the “free” airwaves, commercial radio has been dead to me.
Thank the Gods for the web.
Here are a few of my favorite Podcasts, Net Radio Stations , and sites where I get my fix, and can worship on the 700 watts of 7.1, THX surround sound that are my set of Logitech’s.
First off…If you don’t have iTunes installed, you are missing a golden opportunity to have hundreds of dance music stations at you finger tips, as well as a decent selection of weekly podcasts. Just in case there are some of you holding on to Rhapsody, or what ever bastardized version of net radio Microsoft is trying to push, do yourself a favor:
Download iTunes 7 here. You will not be sorry.
David Sabat
Of course I am a big fan as I have mentioned before. Mr. Sabat has a nice selection of new mixes for those who love Chicago Style House, as well as smooth seamless mixes.

Xtra Trance Cast
From the Netherlands. Always the best new, and underground, Trance, House and Electro from independent artists, and our House Podcast Link.

Leisure Groove U.K. :
House / Electro / Disco House
http://www.myspace.com/leisuregroove
Podcast is available on iTunes. If you like House, you will really enjoy Leisure Groove. I listened to it twice today.
Ministry of Sound
http://www.ministryofsound.com/
It may sound strange, but there are still a lot of people who don’t know that Ministry of Sound is a global portal of Dance Music, and the church of Ibiza. With a podcast also on iTunes, the M.O.S. site is full of goodies, MP3 downloads, a music store, and videos from the empire.
Hed Kandi

Hed Kandi is delicately smooth. It is like the soft, sexy side of M.O.S.
David Guetta
From Paris every Saturday at 22h, and Wed at Midnight on radio FG 98.2, plus exclusive DJ sets around the worl. You will need iTunes to listen.

Joachim Garraud
Video podcasts available on iTunes, but you can subscribe to the podcast without it. Last weeks episode with Carl Cox eating an ear of corn on stage, was a classic.

Pete Tong
You can also catch Pete Tong Radio, Tong T.V., and the Tong Cast. Pete Tongs Fast Trax is on iTunes…a brief overview of some of the newest tracks and artists.

Tiesto’s Club Life
Kind of a “no brainer”. Tiesto’s Club Life is on Radio 538 = 102 FM in the Netherlands. Also available on iTunes, of course.
Armin Van Buuren’s State of Trance
Armin’s “State of Trance” weekly radio show is one of the most popular podcasts on the web…not only on iTunes, but you can also catch select episodes on You Tube, and in this sites Dance Music Video section.

Internet Radio
Internet radio at it’s finest. A great selection of Trance, Vocal Trance, Chill Out, Euro Dance, House, Soulful House, Hard Dance, and techno…just to get you started.

Pure.FM
Sirius Satellite/Internet Radio – Area 33
Definitely one of my favorite stations, and has gotten me through some rogh times when I was without internet access or away from my computer. Worth every penny. Can’t wait to see what the Sirius/XM merger will bring.
Of course there are many others, but these are some of my favorites. Feel free to leave your favorite podcast links, radio, or live music site links with any comments for others, as well as myself to enjoy.
